Romeo is the 7th CBB Evictee

Romeo has become the 7th housemate to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house.

He was the 2nd housemate of the night to be evicted, following Nicola who was evicted an hour earlier, losing his place in the final to Denise Welch, Frankie Cocozza, Gareth Thomas, Karissa & Kristina, and Michael Madsen.

The 2nd eviction of the night, pre-recorded half an hour earlier, was aired at 11pm. Brian Dowling announced the housemates safe and in the final before revealing Romeo had received the fewest votes and would leave the house immediately. He left the house to cheers from the crowd.

The final will take place at 9pm Friday night on Channel 5.

Military Wives Choir grab the Christmas Number 1

The Military Wives Choir and Gareth Malone have achieved this year’s all-famous Christmas Number 1, beating X Factor winners Little Mix.

The song, “Wherever You Are”, based on the letters sent to the forces serving in the war and composed by Paul Mealor, sold over 500,000 copies throughout the week, outselling the entire top 12 combined.

Other contenders for the Christmas Number 1 included X Factor winners Little Mix with their single “Cannonball”, which had reached number-one the previous week, Lou Monte with a Christmas classic “Dominick The Donkey”, singer-songwriter Alex Day with “Forever Yours”, and Nirvana with “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, all of which charted at #2, #3, #4 and #11 respectively.

The Christmas Number 1 is the most coveted chart position of the year, with the sales of singles in the Christmas charts typically being higher than all other weeks of the year.

Previous years have seen the Christmas Number 1s dominated by X Factor and other talent competition winners, with the exception of 2009 following the famous and successful campaign to get Rage Against The Machine to number 1.

Little Mix win The X Factor 2011!

Little Mix Win The X Factor

Little Mix have made X Factor history tonight by becoming the first ever group to win the talent show competition.

The first part of the final took part on Saturday 10th December, which saw 17-year-old Amelia Lily receiving the fewest votes and finishing in 3rd place.

The next part of the final took place on Sunday 11th December, where Little Mix and 23-year-old Marcus Collins fought head to head for the £1m recording contract.

They both sung a cover of Damien Rice’s “Cannonball” for their winning single, with Little Mix’s version becoming the one that would ultimately win them the competition.

Little Mix began their X Factor journey individually as solo artists. They were put together as a group at boot camp when they originally named themselves “Rhythmix”. However, during the live shows, they were forced to change their name after Brighton charity Rhythmix threatened to take legal action.

“Cannonball” will be available to download at midnight on the 12th December.
